Agencies Responsible for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Drug Abusers

1. National Bureau of Investigation Treatment and Rehabilitation Center

Location: Tagaytay City
Functions:
a) Provides residential treatment and rehabilitation of drug dependents
b) Admits both voluntary and court committed cases
c) Provides multi-disciplinary approach to rehabilitation

2. Constabulary Anti-Narcotics Unit/Drug Abuse Rehabilitation Network (CANU/DARN)

Location: Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig, Metro Manila

Functions:
a) Disseminates information regarding the salient provisions of the Dangerous Drugs Act of 1972 (RA 6425)
b) Conducts a drug division investigation
c) Provides technical assistance in conducting drug abuse information programs to schools and voluntary agencies.
d) Residential treatment and rehabilitation of drug dependents. Caters to both voluntary and court committed cases. Approach is based on strengthening of family relationship, moral and spiritual values.

3. Drug Abuse Research Foundation, Inc. (DARE)

Location: 15 Fabian dela Rosa Street, Quezon City
Functions:
Residential treatment and rehabilitation of young dependents, alcoholics, and people with behavioral disorders. Clients who are of minor age need court action before they can be admitted.

4. Narcotics Foundation of the Philippines, Inc. (NFPI)/Ang Tahanan Treatment Rehabilitation Center

Location: Barrio San Isidro, Antipolo, Rizal

Functions:
a) Provides community outreach in the form of walking centers and drug defense brigades.
b) Conducts seminars and workshops for community education on drug abuse prevention.
c) Residential and outpatient rehabilitation of drug dependents. Caters to both voluntary and court committed cases. Provides multi-disciplinary approach to rehabilitation.

5. Prevention and Rehabilitation Drug Abusers Foundation, Inc. (PREDA)

Location: Bukang Liwayway Center, Upper Kalaklan, Olongapo City
Functions:
a) Admits drug cases for residential rehabilitation. Therapy is a combination of primal and family therapy with skills training and job placement.
b) Conducts skills training programs for the youth.

6. Shalom House

Location: PMHA Baguio - Benguet Headquarters,
Sto. Tomas Road, Baguio City
Functions:
a) An outpatient treatment and rehabilitation center catering to drug abusers, people who experiment with drugs, and first offenders. Caters to both voluntary and court committed cases.
b) Provides seminars and/or lectures on drug abuse prevention to schools and interested groups

7. Malaya Center (NCR-MSSD)

Location: 240 N. Domingo St., San Juan, Metro Manila
Functions:
Day-care facility for the aftercare and follow-up of released drug dependents and their families; supportive services to potential drug users.

8. Dangerous Drugs Board

Location: Domestic Insurance Building, Bonifacio Drive
Port Area, Manila
Functions:
a) Policy-making and coordinating agency
b) Serves as the clearing house of all information regarding policies and programs on prevention, treatment and rehabilitation, law enforcement, research and training
c) Provides psychiatric, psychological/psychosocial and laboratory evaluation of suspended drug dependents.

9. Philippine Mental Health Association (PMHA)

Location: 18 East Avenue, Quezon City
Functions:
a) Provides opportunities for youth and their parents on areas of self-development and improvement of interpersonal relations.
b) Pre-release evaluation of rehabilitation drug dependents
c) Provides outreach services through mental health clubs and search and grow activities

10. Teen Challenge Philippines

Location: Bethel Bible Institute Compound, Gov. Santiago St.,
Malinta, Valenzuela, Metro Manila
Functions:
a) Conducts activities which provide positive alternatives with Christian principles and home/family relationships.
b) Involves students of high schools and universities in various activities on drug prevention.
